Shaler North Hills Library Patron Survey
Public libraries in PA will experience a reduction in state funding by up to 51.2%. In addition, at the county level, libraries will experience a reduction in RAD funds of up to 20% due to declining sales tax revenue. Furthermore, a change in how RAD funding is distributed to suburban libraries will negatively impact (10) of the largest libraries, including SNHL.
The Shaler North Hills Library will see a reduction of operating funds of up to $150,000 in 2010.
As you may have read in the news, the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh hosted (3) town hall meetings. The information gleaned from these meetings is important to all libraries in the county because CLP funds/operates the daily delivery system, inter-library loan outside of the county and the eiNetwork (the county computer network.) The potential loss of 2 to 3 million dollars to CLP will impact how we do business at the local level.
